We all have 24 hours at our disposal, but we all feel different about them

A problem I often hear people talk about whenever they’re approaching a topic like “how to be successful” or “how to work more to get more money”, is the amount of time everyone has and how to use it.

Another thing I often hear wealthy people say when it comes to the time spent working, is that everyone has only 24 hours at their disposal, even them, and it’s not about how much time you have, but how you use it.

And they’re right. We all have only 24 hours at our disposal, and how we use those hours will determined what type of life we’ll have in the future.

What a lot of people miss when it comes to that topic, isn’t the amount of time we have to work on all kind of things, but how a lot of people feel about that time, how they waste some of it based on how they feel and why the reason some people don’t succeed isn’t because of the time they don’t have, but because of how they feel about the time they do.

Allow me to explain this better.

Let’s say we have two men, one is named A and one is named B (not very creative, I know, but let’s just keep going).

A is really successful, has a bunch of money, great friends, an awesome relationship and a business.

B is not successful, he doesn’t have a bunch of money, he has a lot of friends but they wouldn’t be willing to help him with anything, doesn’t have a relationship and has a day to day job.

One of the reasons A is always gonna have more time at his disposal to do everything he needs to in order to become even wealthier and earn more, is because of the way he feels about his time. He can afford to spend it however he wants. He doesn’t have, in his life, all the things B has to worry about. What’s even more important, he may not always be tired of what he does.

That means that A can wake up early in the morning and be excited about working. It means that A can go to bed at night and read 50 pages from a book before going to sleep because he’s not as tired, mentally or/and physically, and can learn something new.

B however, has a harder time, at least when it comes to how he feels about his life.

We can all agree that probably A worked really hard to get where he is. But we can also agree that his feelings throughout his journey were, probably, different than how B feels now. After all, every human being is unique.

Imagine that B wakes up early in the morning, but hates having to go to work. He comes home tired, both mentally and physically. He doesn’t want to read, and even if he does it he cannot focus, he’s not in the mood to do anything because he’s tired, and he just wants to go to sleep.

Even if both A and B work for the same amount of time and are just as tired at the end of the day, what may make the difference between them going to sleep without reading and waking up early in the morning in or not in the mood to work is how they feel about what they do.

If A is just as tired as B, then the reason he may be trying to learn something new before his day ends isn’t always because he has more energy, but because his feelings about what he does are different, and therefore, it’s easier for him to spend time reading, even if he’s tired, simply because he ignores his fatigue.

If we compare that to B, then the only thing he lacks isn’t time or energy, but the motivation to do something more with his time, despite being tired.

Yes, we all have 24 hours at our disposal, and how we choose to use that time will determine the amount of success we’ll experience in the future. However, a factor a lot of people seem to forget, and shouldn’t, is how we feel about that time, how we feel about our day, what motivates us, what goals we have and if we have a plan to help us change our life.

All those things should be a priority for the people who aren’t as wealthy as others (me included). I doubt that focusing so much on how much time we have is gonna help us more than focusing on how we feel about our time and how motivated we are to do something productive, even when we’re tired.

So, what I propose is for you to focus a little bit more on your feelings, and how you see your life, on how motivated you are to work more than usual, and take care of yourself first, before taking care of that plan that will help you change your life.
