A break during stressful times

Very soon I’ll have to go on a trip. I don’t really want to, but it’s a necessity, and it must be done. This is quite inconvenient for me, mainly because it disrupts this little routine that I managed to create with writing and posting every single day on this platform. I can either choose to stop posting for a few days, or make an extra effort and write articles even though it’s very inconvenient.

After having to go through several similar situations, I learned something very important: there is no need to burden yourself with unnecessary worries before a trip, especially if it involves having to go and do something stressful.

It’s around 9 PM at the moment and the first thought I had after finishing all the preparations for the next days was “Oh yeah, I need to also post an article on Medium… but what the hell could I write?”

In such situations I realized that focusing on writing something very simple and quite short is much better than trying to write anything too complicated. You’re anxious before having to leave, your mind is busy with constantly checking whether you have everything you need, and whatever tasks await you at the end of your trip can make finding ideas quite difficult.

That’s why in times like this taking a break is, in my opinion, important.

Let your mind rest for a bit and do something relaxing so that you can forget a bit about the stress you went through so far, and the stress you’ll experience in the near future. Sometimes there’s no need to put extra pressure on yourself by doing something that you’re really not up to at the moment.

Just take a break and prepare for what’s coming.
